Margaret Lim is a 3rd generation Chinese, born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Always studious, she speaks Chinese (Mandarin and Fujien), Tagalog, and English through her schooling in Manila. At the age of 18 years old, she immigrated to Honolulu, HI with her mother and four siblings. While a full-time college student at the University of Hawaii - Manoa, she and her family would go on to establish Golden Coin Bakeshop and Restaurant. 

 

After graduating college, Margaret continued to work as the operations manager for Golden Coin, where she oversaw daily operations and managed over a hundred employees across multiple restaurant locations, until 2012. Deciding to pursue a different calling, Margaret left Golden Coin in 2012 to obtain her real estate license and become a full-time real estate agent/broker. Today, Margaret is a real estate investor and the team leader of Praise God Team brokered by eXp Realty.

 

Margaret has been married for 32 years to her husband, Jonathan.  Together, they have 3 adult sons, who attended various public and private schools throughout Oahu. 

 

On her free time, Margaret loves to hike and swim laps on the weekends. She also loves to attend church events and listen to Christian music and podcasts on YouTube.

 

Margaret is passionate about seeing everyone become a homeowner.  She will advocate for putting a cap on property tax assessed to seniors on their primary residence.  Throughout her experience as a real estate investor, she understands the frustration of dealing with DPP, long delays of the issuance of permits, and various problems faced by inexperienced homeowners doing home renovations.

With the recent insurance crisis facing condominium owners, Margaret will rally behind homeowners to find a viable solution to alleviate the high cost of having full insurance coverage.  Her common-sense, practical, cost-effective approach as a businesswoman and leader will be very beneficial to our community and State.
